So what we are going to do in this programme is to introduce to you these people and their works and show how sophisticated their methodology is, how great their minds are and how big their thinking is. These people are the mujtahideen or the thinkers of Islam and we will learn and understand what they have been doing in this programme. This programme will also help us not take our religion as something superficial, and not to take the Islamic sciences as something at the surface. Islamic sciences are much deeper and we have to go deep. At the end of the programme you will not become an expert of Hadith or Fiqh or Tafsir but it will at least push you in that direction. It will help you to realise that we need to do much effort to at least understand them. So if you cannot produce a work like Bukhari at least you should understand what he has done. If you cannot produce a work like Waliullah Dehlawi at least you should be able to understand what he has done.
